On November 27, 1992, Kabza De Small was born. He was raised in Mpumalanga before his family moved to Pretoria, where he attended high school.

Kabza De Small put more of his time and effort into developing his musical talent than he did in his studies, which suffered as a result.

Career

In 2009, Tyrique de Bruyne signed Kabza De Small to a recording contract, and in 2016, Bestbyfar Records forced him to release “Avenuee Sound,” his debut album. Later, in 2018, he established PianoHub, his own record label, and collaborated with South African artist Leehleza to produce “Umshove,” which became a breakthrough hit.

Piano Hub was released on October 1 by Kabza De Small and DJ Maphorisa. The Return of Scorpion Kings was released on November 29, 2019, and The Extended Play was certified 3-platinum in South Africa. Scorpion King Live was then confirmed to take place on April 11 at Sun Arena in Pretoria’s Times Square on January 20, 2020, but owing to the COVID-19 outbreak, the concert was postponed and will now take place on August 9.

Kabza De Small’s studio album I Am the King of Amapiano: “Sweet & Dust,” which went double platinum in South Africa, was published on June 26, 2020. Kabza De Small was recognized as the most streamed South African singer by Spotify later in December 2020. The lead single, “Funu,” featuring the Afro-pop musician Tresor, was released in February 2021. That same month, Kabza announced the joint studio album Rumble in the Jungle. Later, on April 9, 2021, “Rumble in the Jungle,” recognized as a collaborative studio album by Kabza de Small, DJ Maphorisa, and Tresor, was made available.

Kabza De Small was featured for his musical career in Rolling Stone magazine the next month. Kabza De Small was ranked number 18 on Forbes Africa’s 30 Under 30 rankings in June 2021.

Featuring South African singer Ami Faku, Kabza, and DJ Maphorisa released “Abalele” on September 27. The song debuted at number one on the official South African Music chart and number four on the Spotify rankings.

He announced the release of his upcoming album KOA II Part 1 on his Instagram page in early January 2022. His studio EP “Ziwangale” became available on April 22, 2022.

Its first single, “Ziwa Ngale,” which features DJ Tira, DJ Exit SA, Beast, Mshunqisi, Young Stunna, and Felo Le Tee, peaked at number one on the South African iTunes music charts.

On the iTunes music list, his other three songs, “Ebusuku” with Nkosazana Daughter, “Kabza” with Murumba Pitch, and “Mak’shoni” Langa” with DJ Maphorisa, Murumba Pitch, and Da Muziqal Chef, are ranked at positions 7, 12, and 26 respectively.

On May 31, Kabza De Small released six singles from Part 1 of his album, including “Khusela” with Msaki, “Bathini” with Young Stunna and Artwork Sounds, and “Isoka” with Nkosazana Daughter and Murumba Pitch.

KOA II Part 1 (also known as “King of Amapiano 2 Part 1”) was released on June 16, 2022. Additionally, “Khusela” peaked at the top of the Apple Music charts, while the album debuted at number 11 on the iTunes top 100 list.
