She is a well-known TV personality, businesswoman, and actress from Nigeria.

Childhood & Education
From the Kogi State town of Okene, comes Mercy Johnson Okojie. She is an Okene from Nigeria’s Kogi region.

She was born on August 28, 1984, in Lagos State to Mrs. Elizabeth Johnson and Mr. Daniel Johnson, a retired naval officer.

She is the fourth child of a seven-member family. In the Cross River State city of Calabar, she began her primary education. Her father, a navy officer, then moved to Lagos State, where she went to a Nigerian Navy Primary School to finish her schooling.

Mercy Johnson attended the Nigerian Navy Secondary School in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, as well as a secondary school in that state.

Career

Mercy Johnson began acting in movies including Hustlers, Baby Oku in America, and War in the Palace after completing her secondary education. She first tried out for a part in The Maid.

Her portrayal in the film “Live to Remember” earned her a nomination for Best Supporting Actress at the 2009 African Movie Awards. In 2013, she won Best Actress at the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards for her part in the comedy Dumebi the Dirty Girl.

In December 2011, she was listed as Google’s most-searched Nigerian celebrity, which she also held in 2012. She is the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the Kogi state governor on entertainment, arts, and culture. This post took effect from 1 April 2017.
