After being diagnosed with depression, Zanda Zakuza reportedly returned to her family home in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu Natal.

The singer prioritizes her mental health, so she took a break from music to recover.

The South African vocalist claims she left Johannesburg due to industry pressure and toxicity.

“This industry was getting too toxic for me and I couldn’t take it anymore. It was important for me to retreat and work on my mental health,” she said to Zimoja.

“I only come to Jozi when I have a gig-it’s a toxic place.”

Zanda promises to return in 2024 with new music.

“I have a lot of music that I will be dropping and I might be joining a new record label,’ she revealed.
